Gang Member Arrested at Nassau Hotel Accused of Sex Trafficking

PLAINVIEW, NY - A gang member from Deer Park was arrested on Friday at a Plainview hotel for sex trafficking, according to Suffolk County Police.

Following a three-month investigation by the Human Trafficking Unit, detectives determined that 32-year-old Abiodum Adeleke forced and kept women in prostitution by violence, threat of violence, damage to personal property, and providing narcotics drugs in and around Suffolk County, police said.

He used local motels and hotels, police said. He is a confirmed member of the Bloods street gang, according to police.

Adeleke was arrested at the Holiday Inn on 215 Sunnyside Boulevard in Plainview and charged with four counts of sex trafficking, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and three active warrants for three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation is continuing. The Human Trafficking Investigations Unit is requesting any additional victims or witnesses who wish to cooperate to contact them at 1-800-220-TIPS.
