Long Island Weather: Thunderstorms in the Friday Forecast

Will things clear up for Easter?

It will be a wet Friday on Long Island, but things will clear up nicely for Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Here's a look at the full forecast from the National Weather Service:

  • Friday- Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Areas of fog before 9am. High near 61. South wind 13 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday Night- Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 37. West wind 10 to 13 mph becoming north after midnight.
  • Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 50. North wind 7 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon.
  • Saturday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. East wind around 8 mph.
  • Sunday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
  • Sunday Night- A chance of rain after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
