Man Found Shot to Death in North Bay Shore

NORTH BAY SHORE, NY- A 44-year-old man was found shot to death in North Bay Shore early Sunday, police said.

According to police, Third Precinct patrol officers responded to the area of Heckscher Avenue, just south of Prospect Place, after a ShotSpotter activation indicated that several shots had been fired at that location at 12:06 a.m.

When the officers arrived, they discovered a 44-year-old man who had been shot one time by an unknown person. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
