Man Killed in Brightwaters Crash
The 25-year-old's car struck a pole and a tree early Saturday, police say.

A Lindenhurst man was killed and his female passenger injured after his car struck a utility pole and a tree in Brightwaters early Saturday morning, police said.
According to police, the 25-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of family, was driving a 2001 Honda CRV west on Union Boulevard when the vehicle struck a median and left the roadway, before hitting the pole and tree at 1:43 a.m.
The accident occurred just west of Windsor Avenue, police said.

The driver was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The 27-year-old female passenger was also transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
