Those applicants will be whittled down to just 150 winners who will eventually receive the scholarship.
Coca Cola created the scholarship in 1986 to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary.
According to the scholarship's website, the goal is to "provide scholarship programs and lifelong enrichment opportunities in support of exceptional peoples' thirst for knowledge and their desire to make a difference in the world."
Coca Cola Scholars are students who not only exceed academically, but are also involved in their schools and act as leaders to others. They are active in their community and help others.
Congratulations to Jordan Fuentes!
