Hudson River Healthcare Center Hosts Immunization Seminar

NEW YORK. As part of the National Infant Immunization Week, Nurses Who Vaccinate (NWV), will hold an infant immunization awareness seminar at Hudson River Healthcare Center in Wyandanch, Long Island.
The awareness program is scheduled for April 19, 2016 (4.30-6.30pm) and it is aimed to educate, encourage and mobilize parents and guardians on the need to regularly immunize their children as a safeguard for general wellness.
Nurses Who Vaccinate, in conjunction with other nurses on Long Island is leveraging the Center for Disease Control (CDC), infant immunization week to reach the underserved population with information and education to advocate for wellness of children in all communities around the nation.
National Infant Immunization Week is an annual program of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to highlight the positive impact of vaccination on the lives of infants and children.
The national program is set for April 16-23 in 2016 and will be celebrated as part of the World Immunization Week, an initiative of the World Health Organization.
Nurses Who Vaccinate is a not-for-profit organization promoted by Melody Butler, RN a pediatric nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, Long Island and made up of nurses and health professionals who advocate for immunization. Their mission is to collaborate with health systems and others to promote general wellness for all through immunization. The organization was founded for nurses who saw the need for pro-vaccine nurses and other health professionals to come together and speak up for preventive medicine and immunizations.
