Police: Man Shot, Killed While Sitting in His Car in Wyandanch
Man riding a bike fired one shot into the car, police say.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man who was shot to death while sitting in a parked car outside of his house in Wyandanch Saturday evening, police say.
According to police, Vernon Brown, 32, was sitting in the passenger seat of a car with a friend in front of 74 S. 31st St., when a male on a bicycle approached the car and fired one shot into the vehicle, hitting Brown. The bicyclist fled the scene, police said.
The friend drove Brown to a house on Levey Boulevard in Wyandanch where another friend called 911 at about 5:55 p.m., police said.

Brown was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, by Wyandanch Wheatley Heights Ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6394 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
