Police: Man Walking on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst Hospitalized After Attempted Robbery

A man was treated at the hospital after he was struck in the head during an attempted robbery in Lindenhurst Monday night, police said.

According to police, the victim, who was walking on Sunrise Highway near N. Fulton Avenue, was approached by a man who demanded money at about 9:10 p.m. The man struck the victim and caused a laceration to his head, police said.

The would-be robber fled without proceeds, police said. The victim was transported by the North Lindenhurst Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

No arrests have been made.
