From charity concerts to mega yard sales, there is a lot going on in and around Deer Park and North Babylon.

Friday is finally here once again on this holiday shortened week. Get out this weekend and enjoy the many fun events going on near and around Deer Park and North Babylon. Remember to keep your umbrella handy – highs are slated to be in the lower 70’s all weekend long with a chance of showers throughout the day on Satuday and Sunday.

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in West Babylon is hosting its annual Greek Festival throughout the weekend, starting Friday at 6:00pm, Saturday at 1:00pm and Sunday at 2:00pm. The festival includes many local vendors, rides for children, carnival games and Greek food and music throughout the weekend.

Are you a picker or a yard sale hunter? Check out the Parkdale Civic Association’s starting at 9:00am on Saturday. Dozens of families from North Babylon will be participating and selling their “treasures” to help benefit the civic association’s scholarship fund. The yard sale will be taking place at 104 Rhoda Avenue in North Babylon.

Take a break from the summer heat and relax at Benefit Concert featuring Carine and Soul Dr. G's All Star Veteran Band Singer-Songwriter-Author Carine Ulano Firestone & Dr. G’s All Star Veteran Band in Dix Hills. The event will raise money for the Monter Cancer Center on Long Island, part of North Shore LIJ, and help women fighting breast cancer. The concert kicks off at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm and will cost $35.00 a ticket.

Exercise and help a cause by walking during the . Walk up to 5k to support the camp starting at 8:30am and enjoy a carnival afterwards starting at 11:00am that features music, games, refreshments and pony rides for children. Registration costs $20.00 for adults, $5.00 for students or children and free for toddlers and under.
