Copland's 'Lincoln Portrait' to Highlight February 23 Concert of Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra

The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra will present the third concert of their 40th anniversary season on Sunday, February 23rd , at the Brooklyn Museum, their new venue. The program will also feature the monumental  “Lincoln Portrait” by Aaron Copland with guest speaker Harris Yuilin and the beloved Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 in E minor. 

"The spoken part of Copland’s inspiring work will be performed by Harris Yulin, a noted actor featured in over 100 film and TV roles,” said Maestro Armstrong, “It’s a stirring portrait and a fitting selection for President’s Day holiday. We will follow with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a thrilling cascade of musical peaks.”

All of the concerts in the 201314 season will take place on Sunday afternoons at the new time of 2 p.m.

Admission to the concert at the door is $20; tickets are available online at the orchestra's web site for $18. Children 16 and under are free.
