Prospect Park Rapist Told Victim 'I Don't Care,' Prosecutors Say
"I have a knife," Mowngly Lucas allegedly told the woman he raped in the Prospect Park Parade Ground. "So follow what I told you."

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN – The homeless man charged with raping a woman near Prospect Park last month allegedly told his victim, "I just got out of jail and I don't care," according to prosecutors.
The chilling details about the attack in the Prospect Park Parade Ground came to light during the arraignment of Mowngly Lucas, 28, in Brooklyn Criminal Court Thursday.
Lucas, of Queens, stands accused of sneaking up behind a 59-year-old woman near Parkside Avenue and Parade Place on Nov. 18 at about 4 a.m., putting her in a chokehold and threatening her life, said prosecutors.

“I have a knife," Lucas said, according to prosecutors. "Follow what I told you.”
Lucas told the woman to pull down her pants and he raped her three times, once in the Parade Ground, once behind a park bench and once inside a van parked nearby that he broke into, said prosecutors.

Police arrested Lucas the same day that they released surveillance footage of a suspect entering the Franklin Avenue 2 and 3 station in Crown Heights, police said.
Lucas was charged Thursday with rape, sexual abuse and predatory sexual assault in a 25-count indictment. He's being held on $500,000 bail and is ordered to return to court on Feb. 19, prosecutors said.
He faces up to life in prison if convicted of the top count, said prosecutors.
