• LIPA-Town Settlement Could Cost Taxpayers (huntingtonnow.com) — East Northport residents in the Northport-East Northport School District could see higher school taxes because a new settlement between Huntington Town and LIPA may remove 33 utility properties from the tax rolls. If those properties become exempt, their $6 million tax contribution would shift onto other taxpayers while a broader lawsuit over LIPA assessments plays out in state court.
