Amagansett Woman Busted for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs: Police

The Amagansett woman was charged with a felony for having two prior convictions within the past 10 years, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY- An Amagansett woman was busted after she was caught driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Marie V. Hayden, 56, was arrested on February 3 at 4:07 a.m. on Montauk HIghway in East Hampton after she was observed driving a 2007 black Cadillac west near Windmill Lane.

Police said Hayden was ”impaired” and failed to maintain her lane. Upon investigation, Hayden ”spoke in a very slow manor and her body movements were sluggish. When asked to exit the vehicle,” Hayden “leaned on the car to balance herself,” police said.

She performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, police said.
