Bridgehampton Fire Department Respond To Mower Fire on Mitchell's Lane Property

A police officer attempted to extinguish the fire on what was believed to be a John Deere riding mower before firefighters arrived.

The Bridgehampton Fire Department responded to a reported tractor fire on a MItchell’s Lane property known as Long Pond Farm at about 3 p.m. on Friday.

An engine and tanker truck responded while an ambulance crew stood by.

A Southampton Town police officer tried to extinguish the fire with a hose before firefighters arrived, according to the Bridgehampton Fire Department.

Chiefs used extinguishers and firefighters used the hoses to put out the fire on what was believed to be a John Deere riding mower.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown, according to the Bridgehampton Fire Department.
