Drunk Driver Tries To Head-Butt Cops: Police
She was also involved in a DWI crash before the New Year's Day arrest, police said.

MONTAUK, NY — A drunk driver was arrested after she crashed her vehicle and then tried to resist arrest, attempting to head-butt officers, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Katherine L. Knetzer, 31, was arrested on Jan. 1 at 1:15 a.m. on Stephen Hands Path near Marion Lane. She was driving a 2003 Honda Element east when she ran off the roadway and crashed into a wooded area off the westbound shoulder, police said.
Upon investigation, she was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, slurred speech, glassy, bloodshot eyes, was unsteady on her feet, and performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.

She intentionally attempted to prevent an officer from arresting her; after being told that she was under arrest, she began to tense up, refused to place both hands behind her back, continuously pulled both hands apart, attempted to pull away, and attempted to head-butt the officers, police said. She was finally restrained and placed in handcuffs, police said.
Knetzer was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.

She was released on her own recognizance, police said.
