East Hampton Library to Launch New Series in Honor of Former Library Chairman Tom Twomey
The first event of the series will take place on Saturday, April 18.

The East Hampton Library recently announced that they will be launching “The Tom Twomey Series: Conversations With…” starting on Saturday, April 18.
The series was created in memory of Tom Twomey, the former Chairman of the Library’s Board of Managers, who died this past November.
The new series will feature twelve late Saturday afternoon programs in the Library’s new Baldwin Family Lecture Room.

It will explore with noted experts a range of ideas, issues and topics of current interest—everything from health, the environment, local history, and municipal finance to North Korea, the pop songs of World War I, and the future of professional sports.
Each program will begin with presentations starting at 4 p.m., followed by a Q & A, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

The Library board member who organized the event will be the host and admission is free.
The first event in the series on April 18 will be a dedication of the The Tom Twomey Gallery and Local History Gift which will be hosted by Ann Chapman.
There will also be the launch Vol. VI of the East Hampton history collection, edited by Tom, entitled Revealing the Past: The Historical Works Regarding East Hampton, New York of Norton Daniels, Sherrill Foster, Mac Griswold, and Hugh King.
The event will include a brief talk about exciting recent acquisitions of the Long Island Collection, by its head librarian, Gina Pisastuck.
