East Hampton Man Caught Driving Drunk After Accident On Cedar Lane: Police

The driver was charged with a midemeanor, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - An East Hampton man was cuffed after he was caught driving drunk after an accident on Cedar Lane, police said.

According to East Hampton Town police, Eliezer Debroy, 51, was arrested on February 23 at 6:48 p.m. after he was seen driving a 1988 Toyota south on Cedar Street, near Miller Lane.

Police said Debroy was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and, upon investigation, was found to have a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," along with "bloodshot" and "glassy" eyes and slurred speech.

When he was questioned outside his vehicle, Debroy was unsteady and leaned on his car for balance, police said,

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.
