East Hampton Man Caught Driving Drunk on Old Orchard Lane: Police

The driver failed to make a complete stop at the intersection, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - An East Hampton man was busted for driving drunk on Old Orchard Lane, police said.

According to East Hampton Town police, Rolfi E. Velasquez-Perez was arrested on March 5 at 9:28 p.m. after he was seen driving east on Old Orchard Lane.

He failed to come to a complete stop of the intersection of Stephen Hands Path and Cedar Street, police said.

Upon investigation, police said Velasquez-Perez had "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," as well as bloodshot, glassy eyes; he failed all standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.

Velasquez-Perez was charged with operating a motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent alcohol or more in his blood, a first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.
