Two Massachusetts men were rescued after a boat crash off Montauk on Thursday night, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The crash occurred at about 11:15 p.m. one nautical mile northeast of Montauk.

The two men jumped into the water prior to the crash, and two good Samaritans on scene helped them back on the boat until the Coast Guard arrived to tow the damaged boat and the men into Montauk Harbor, the Coast Guard said.

The other boat involved in the crash fled the scene and the Coast Guard, along with the East Hampton Town Police Marine Division have been searching for it.

The boat is described as a 25-28 foot white center console boat with a t-top, according to the Coast Guard.

There is no description of the people on board the boat.
