ICYMI: Two Pedestrians Hospitalized After Being Struck by Taxi

Two pedestrians were hospitalized after being hit by a taxi in Montauk on Sunday morning, according to East Hampton Town Police.

The accident occurred at about 3 a.m. when the two pedestrians, who were crossing Montauk Highway, were hit by a taxi traveling westbound, police said.

Both were transported to Southampton Hospital, according to police.

No charges were filed in the accident.

Benjamin Pileski, 20, and his friend Justin Tyler, both of Mattituck, were identified as the two victims of the accident, according to SoutholdLocal.

Pileski is current in critical condition at Stony Brook University hospital, his brother, Zach Pileski wrote on his Facebook page.

“Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers,” he wrote. “He’s a fighter but can use all the help he can get to get through this.”
