Local Fire Districts to Elect Commissioners Next Week
All of the commissioners in the area will be running unopposed.

There will be several elections in fire districts within the East Hampton area to vote for their respective fire commissioners next week.
All elections will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8 and all are running unopposed.
In Montauk, Michael Mirras will be running for a five year term starting on Jan. 1, 2016. Voting will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the District Office located on 12 Flamingo Avenue in Montauk,

In Springs, Pat Glennon, will also be running for a five year term starting in January. Voting will take place between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Department headquarters located on 179 Fort Pond Boulevard.
In Amagansett, Carl Hamilton is up for re-election to another five year term. Voters will also be voting on a proposition to authorize the commissioners to create an equipment reserve fund, allowing them to set aside portions of future budget surpluses into a dedicated account for the purchase of firefighting equipment other than trucks, ambulances or other vehicles.

The proposition does not authorize the dedication of any specific amounts of money.
Voting will take place between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Firehouse located on 439 Main Street in Amagansett
