Man Busted for Driving Drunk in East Hampton: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY- An East Hampton man was busted for driving drunk, police said.

According to East Hampton Town police, Luis E. Morales, 44, was arrested on February 6 at 9:44 p.m. after he was seen driving a 2000 Chevrolet van north on Two Holes of Water Road in East Hampton.

Police said Morales failed to maintain his lane and was observed crossing over the double yellow line several times.

Upon investigation, police said “there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, his speech was slurred, he was unsteady on his feet, and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy.”

Morales performed poorly on all field sobriety tests administered, police said.

Morales was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.
