Man Charged With DWI After Accident: Police
The accident took place on Abrahams Path, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - An East Hampton man was caught driving drunk after an accident on Abrahams Path, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Ronald R. Bennett, 57, was arrested on March 5 at 6:38 p.m. after driving a 1993 dark maroon Chevrolet west on Abrahams Path and becoming involved in a reportable motor vehicle accident.
Bennett, police said, had a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage upon his breath." In addition, police said, "his speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, and he was unsteady on his feet." He also performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests administered, police said.

Bennett was charged with operating a motor vehicle with .08 percent of 1 percent or more of alcohol in his blood, a misdemeanor, police said.
