Man In Critical Condition After Crash, No Insurance, Needs Help

The goal is to alleviate financial burden on loved ones so they "can focus their time and energy on the care of this amazing individual."

EAST HAMPTON, NY — The community is joining hands and hearts to help a man critically injured in a motorcycle crash who has no medical insurance.

A GoFundMe, "Help Byron Fight," was created by Derek Milgate on behalf of Adriana Carpio.

Byron, 24, "is a caring, loving individual who, through unfortunate circumstances, has suffered serious physical trauma in a motorcycle accident on the morning of September 9, 2018," the page said. "At the current moment, Byron is being held at Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, and is preparing for his second neurosurgical procedure in as many days."

Byron has no medical insurance, and the goal is to alleviate the financial burden on his loved ones so that they can focus their time and energy on the care of "this amazing individual. Every dollar donated will contribute directly to Byron's medical bills and his recovery. We thank you for anything you may be able to contribute, whether your donation is monetary or even a simple prayer. Keep our loved one in your thoughts as he and his family battle through this difficult time," the page said.
