Man With Previous DWI Arrest Caught Driving Motorcycle Drunk: Police

The man was arrested while driving in Amagansett.

An East Hampton man with a previous DWI arrested was caught driving a motorcycle drunk in Amagansett, according to East Hampton Town Police.

James Brew, 41, was stopped after failing to stop at a stop sign while driving a 2006 Harley Davidson along Town Lane at about 9:07 p.m. on Dec. 16, police said.

Police found that he “had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet,” according to police.

He also had his license revoked after he was charged with a DWI in August, police said.

He was charged with felony DWI, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and circumventing an interlock device, police said.

Brew’s bail was set at $5,000 cash or $15,000 bond.
