Masked Man Robs East Hampton Cell Phone Store: Police

He demanded cash while displaying what appeared to be a weapon, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — Police are searching for a man who robbed a cell phone store in East Hampton Wednesday, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, the incident took place at 5 p.m. at Montoya Communications on Springs Fireplace Road. Witnesses reported a man wearing a ski mask, a dark-colored jacket over a white sweater with a dark stripe, and dark pants, entered the store and demanded cash from a clerk while displaying what appeared to be a weapon, police said.

He made off with cash and fled north on Old Fireplace Road in a light-gray-colored pickup truck, police said.
