Motorcyclist From East Hampton Seriously Hurt in Montauk Crash

Accident occurred Friday evening, police say.

A 45-year-old East Hampton man was seriously injured after the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a car in Montauk Friday evening, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Daniel Roman was riding a 2005 Suzuki west on Old Montauk Highway when his motorcycle collided head-on with a 2012 Honda Accord that had been heading east on Old Montauk Highway and was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Second House Road at about 6:09 p.m.

Roman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

A passenger in the Honda, 33-year-old Megan Weber, of Baltimore, Md., suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Southampton Hospital.

No criminal charges have been filed. Detectives are continuing to investigate the crash and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the East Hampton Town Police Department at 631-537-7575.
