The alumni gave the students advice during a recent assembly.

Pierson High School freshmen were inspired by alumni during a recently assembly.
During the event, the ninth-graders, currently working on college research projects as part of their Freshman Seminar class, heard from 2014 alumni Eilis Sheil and Sol Varela.
Both Sheil, who attends SUNY Oneonta, and Varela, who is enrolled at West Virginia University, shared advice on transitioning from high school to college, about college social life and how to work with professors.

In addition to hearing from alumni, the students also listened to the words of seniors Meagan McMahon and Megan Beedenbender, who reflected on their time at Pierson and shared advice on how to make the most of high school.
In the fall, McMahon will be headed to Millersville University of Pennsylvania to study psychology and Beedenbender will be headed to SUNY Potsdam Crane School of Music to study music education.
