Pierson High School Robotics Team Earns Award at Regional Competition
The competition took place at Hofstra University the weekend of March 26.

The Pierson High School Robotics Team was recognized for their originality by earning a creativity award at the Long Island Regional FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, held at Hofstra University the weekend of March 26.
According to the competition website, “the FIRST Robotics Competition is a national program that challenges teams of students and their mentors to design and build a 130 pound robot in a six-week timeframe using a standard “kit of parts” and a common set of rules.”
With their robot, the 38 Sag Harbor students competed against 51 teams, including three international teams from Canada, Brazil and Israel, and were the recipients of the Xerox Creativity Award.
