Police: Greenport Woman Arrested For Drug Possession
East Hampton Village Police arrested the woman on Woods Lane on Sunday.

East Hampton Village Police arrested a Greenport woman on Sunday who was in possession of drugs, according to police.
Lynelle Ross, 48, who was driving southbound on Main Street near Buell Lane, when an officer stopped her by Woods Lane on a routine patrol, according to police.
After showing a suspended registration, Ross was removed from the vehicle when the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed two glass pipes by the driver’s door, according to police.

Ross stated she had marijuana in her bag and removed it. The officer searched her vehicle and found a black bag under the driver’s seat and floor mat, containing a small plastic bag with white substance, according to police.
She was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and operating with suspended registration.

She was then transported to headquarters where she was processed and held for arraignment in the morning.
