Police: Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Montauk Highway
Police responded to the incident on Montauk Highway near the intersection of Corwith Avenue in Bridgehampton Sunday night.

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Bridgehampton Sunday night, police said.
Southampton Town Police, along with members of Bridgehampton Fire Rescue, responded to the accident on Montauk Highway near the intersection of Corwith Avenue at about 9:45 p.m., police said.

The pedestrian, whom police did not identify, attempted to cross Montauk Highway from the north shoulder when he was struck by a westbound 2006 Chrysler minivan, police said.
Members of Bridgehampton Fire Rescue treated the pedestrian on scene before he was transported by Suffolk County Police Department Aviation Unit to Stony Brook University Hospital. The pedestrian sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The driver of the minivan was not injured and the vehicle was impounded for a safety inspection, police said.
