Police: Sag Harbor Man Arrested on DWI Charge in East Hampton Village
Police made the arrest last Wednesday.

East Hampton Village Police arrested a Sag Harbor man on a DWI charge last Wednesday afternoon.
An officer spotted Enzo Valfre, 66, driving westbound on Pondview Lane, when he made an abrupt turn onto Egypt Lane without using the turn signal, according to police. The officer also observed that Valfre’s vehicle had an inadequate brake light, with only one brake light in operation, police said.
Upon further investigation, the officer found that Valfre’s breath smelled of a strong odor of alcoholic beverage, his eyes were glassy, and his speech was slurred, according to police.

After Valfre failed a series of roadside sobriety tests, he was arrested for DWI and taken to the East Hampton Village Department headquarters for processing.
