Cops Shut Down Burlesque Show at Maidstone Inn With 'Scantily Clad' Performer: Police
A woman was performing in a Venetian mask and a black thong, according to police.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - A burlesque show was a no-go at a popular East Hampton Village restaurant recently, police said.
According to East Hampton Village Police Chief Jerry Larsen, two officers were dispatched on April 2 to The LIving Room Restaurant at c/o The Maidstone to investigate potential village code violations.
Larsen said in March, police were told the restaurant was advertising a "burlesque" show on the first Saturday of each month. "We made a phone call to the manager and explained that, under village code, you cannot do this at a restaurant."

Police saw the ad on Facebook for the burlesque show and went to check it out, Larsen said.
When two officers arrived, they found a "scantily dressed" performer, Larsen said.

She was dressed in a Venetian mask and "some type of feather garment and a black thong," police said, noting that at the time of the interview, that outfit was covered by a "short, black bathrobe."
When asked to cease the show, restaurant management and the performer complied, Larsen saidl
The performer received no citations, Larsen said, adding that only two officers appeared and it was "not like a big raid."
The summonses were issued because of failure to heed a warning from a code enforcement officer, Larsen said.
Three summonses were issued, including live performance without a permit, a violation of certificate of occupancy and failure to comply with a notice given by village code enforcement, police said.
Representatives for the c/o The Maidstone & The Living Room said they had no comment.
