Public Forum on Helicopter Noise to Takes Place Thursday
Several officials from Southold and East Hampton will be present at the meeting.

Supervisor Scott Russell and the Southold Town Board will be hosting a public forum along with Suffolk County Legislator Al Krupski on helicopter noise on Thursday evening.
The meeting will take place on starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Southold Town Recreation Center located on 970 Peconic Lane in Peconic.
The meeting will be a “continued discussion and overview of the development of solutions since 2014 to address noise abatement and the reduction of helicopter traffic,” according to a press release from Southold Town.

Speakers will include: Kevin Dowling, Legislative Aide for Congressman Lee Zeldin’s office, Supervisor Larry Cantwell, Town of East Hampton, Kathy Cunningham of the Quiet Skies Coalition, representatives from the Southold Town Helicopter Committee, and several Citizen Advisory Council members from communities of the South Fork.
During the meeting, panelists will speak for a total of five minutes and residents will have three minutes to ask questions or offer comments.
