Public's Help Sought to Catch Thief Who Stole a Wallet at Wainscott Business: Police

EAST HAMPTON, NY - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town Police Department detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a patron who stole another customer’s wallet at a Wainscott business in January, police said.

According to police, a man entered Speedway, located at 346 Montauk Highway, made a purchase, then stole a customer’s wallet from the counter on January 14. He fled in a light-colored pickup truck with a utility body, police said.

The suspect is white and between 35 and 50 years old, police said.
