Sag Harbor Artist Reception: A New Dawn
Saturday, July 11 from 5 – 7 PM with wine and hors d' oeuvres on the front porch of Sag Harbor Florist, 3 Bay Street.
Anastasia Casale is the owner of Sag Harbor Florist. She is a romantic at heart and has been intoxicated by flowers most of her life, thanks to her mother who was an artist and a nature lover. She lives on the North Fork with her love Keith Pierpont, where they grow beautiful seasonal blossoms at True Farmer florists.
Rebecca Swanson’s work is inspired from her childhood in Ohio, growing up with her mother, an avid gardener, and her grandmother, an accomplished china painter. Her work is cultivated by the natural world with its universal fragility and beauty. She “paints” with her camera, blending the abstract forms of nature with subtle colors to build intimate portraits of perfect, individual blooms. Rebecca studied drawing, painting, and photography at Cleveland Institute of Art and moved to New York where she worked as a textile designer for over a decade. Rebecca has been exhibiting since 1995 in locations such as the Leica Gallery in New York City. Her photographs can be found in corporate collections including Banana Republic, St. Regis, Marriott and Omni hotels and in hospitals throughout the country. She has photographed gardens for Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project. Private collectors include Ina Garten “The Barefoot Contessa.”
The show is open now through September 30, 2015.
