Sag Harbor Elementary Students Take Field Trip to Garden Center

The trip took place last week.

As part of their science lesson on plant life cycles, second graders at Sag Harbor Elementary participated in a field trip to the Sag Harbor Garden Center.

During the week of Oct. 19, the students walked to the garden center and saw first-hand how bulbs can grow both inside and outside the earth.

To continue the lesson, each student was given a paperwhite bulb to plant and care for.

The bulbs will be kept in the students’ classrooms and students have been tasked with documenting their growth by using new skills learned from a math unit on measuring.
