Sag Harbor Man Charged With Driving Drunk After Car Accident: Police
The accident took place on Sag Harbor Turnpike, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY - A Sag Harbor man was charged with driving drunk after an automobile accident on Sag Harbor Turnpike.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Thomas S. Pavera, 49, was arrested on March 15 at 2:32 a.m. on New York State Route 114, near Plank Road, in East Hampton after a reportable motor vehicle accident.
Pavera had been driving a black 2013 Jeep Wrangler southbound, police said.

Upon investigation, police said Pavera had "a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," along with bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech; he was also unsteady on his feet, police said. He was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests, police said.
Pavera was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.
