Sag Harbor Senior Earns Gold Key
The student received the honor in the Young Artists and Writers Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.

Pierson High School senior Molly Vorhaus was more than thrilled to learn that a piece she has written has earned a Gold Key in the flash fiction category in the Young Artists and Writers Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.
Vorhausβ winning piece, A Letter from Jane Austen, was inspired by the book, The Things They Carried by Tim OβBrien and tells of Jane Austenβs emotions toward a friend who loves her.
Aside from spending much of her time writing, Vorhaus is also the founding member of her schoolβs hiking adventure club, a member of the National Honor Society and varsity sailing team.

She is also a volunteer at South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center.
She intends to study environmental science, human rights and creative writing in college.
