Sag Harbor Students Design A New Courtyard for Their School
The kids are getting hands on architecture experience through a new program at Pierson.

SAG HARBOR, NY - Pierson middle and high school students got a real-life look into the world of architecture recently.
The kids explored the inner workings of architecture design with Sag Harbor architect Mark Thackrah.
The ongoing workshop, which is supported by the Reutershan Educational Trust, aims to mix art with life skills. Through their participation in the program, the Sag Harbor students are learning fundamental architectural skills, which they will utilize to design a new courtyard for their school.

The workshop will culminate with a formal presentation of the students’ original designs to the district’s board of education, a release said.
