State Police Blotter: 6 DWI Arrests, Man Assaults Gas Station Employee
A look at recent arrests in the area.

State Police-Riverside reported the following arrests over the past week:
- Shane McGowan, 44, of Southampton, was arrested on Aug. 26. McGowan was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana after being stopped at a state police checkpoint on County Road 104 in Riverside. McGowan was released on appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southampton Court on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
- Kendra Allen, 38, of Westhampton Beach, was arrested on Aug. 26 on a felony DWI charge and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation after being stopped at a state police checkpoint on County Road 104 in Riverside.
- A 32-year-old Coram man was arrested on Aug. 28 for unlawful possession of marijuana. He was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at a state police checkpoint on State Route 25A in Riverhead. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Riverhead Court on Sept. 10 at 9:30 a.m.
- Kenneth Rosenhagen, 46, of Center Moriches, was arrested on Aug. 28 on a DWI charge after being stopped for failed to maintain lane on State Route 25A in Riverhead. Rosenhagen was released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Riverhead Court on Sept. 10 at 9:30 a.m.
- Scott Bache, 43, of Middle Island, was arrested on Aug. 29 following a stop for speeding on William Floyd Parkway in Ridge. Bache was charged with a DWI, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, controlled substance outside of original container and unlawful possession of marijuana. Bache was released on appearance ticket returnable to Suffolk County First District Court at a later date.
- A 19-year-old Corona man was arrested on Aug. 30 following an altercation with an employee at Valero on Flanders Road in Flanders. He was charged with second degree menacing, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, third degree assault, fourth degree criminal mischief and trespass.
- Thea Fernandez, 30, of New York City, was arrested on Aug. 31 and charged with a DWI after being stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign on Elm Street in the Village of Southampton. Fernandez was released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Village of Southampton Court on Sept. 22 at 9:30 a.m.
- Jose Zet-Gomez, 28 of Riverhead, was arrested on a felony DWI charge after being stopped on State Route 24 for operating with one headlight. Zet-Gomez was remanded to the Suffolk County Sheriff to be arraigned in the Town of Southampton Court.
- Waapenat Acosta, 22, of Shinnecock Indian Reservation, was arrested on Aug. 31 following a domestic incident at a residence on the reservation. Acosta is charged with second degree criminal contempt for failing to obey an order of protection, third degree burglary and second degree harassment. Acosta was remanded to the Suffolk County Sheriff to be arraigned in the the Town of Southampton Court.
