State Police Report: Three Arrested For Possession Of Marijuana
A list of recent crime activity as reported by the state police.

State Police-Riverside reported the following arrests over the past week:
- Helen Goff, 60, of Riverside was arrested on Monday, Oct. 6 following a vehicle and traffic stop on State Route 24. An investigation by a trooper revealed Goff was wanted on a bench warrant by the Town of Southampton Police . Goff turned over to Southampton Town Police , to be held for Arraignment in the Town of Southampton Court.
- A 59-year-old East Hampton man was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 8 for unlawful possession of marijuana following a stop for a headlight violation on eastbound State Route 27. A further investigation revealed the man to possess marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket and uniform traffic ticket returnable to the Town of Southampton Court at a later date.
- A 40-year-old Middle Island man was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 11 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, unlawful possession of marijuana and controlled substance outside of original container. Troopers stopped the man for speeding on State Route 25 in the Town of Riverhead. Further investigation revealed the man to be in possession of the marijuana and the controlled substances. He was released on appearance ticket and uniform traffic ticket returnable to the Town of Riverhead Court on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m.
- Therese Desoiza, 24, of Coram, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana following a motor vehicle accident on State Route 24 on Saturday, Oct. 11. Troopers investigation of accident revealed Desoiza to be intoxicated , and to also be in possession of marijuana . Investigation also revealed that Desoiza to be involved in a separate accident that was being handled by Riverhead Police Department. Desoiza was released on appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Riverhead Court on Wednesday, Oct. 29 .
- A 19-year-old Ridge man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana following a stop for no plate lamp on Lakeside Trail in the Town of Brookhaven on Sunday, Oct. 12. He was released on appearance ticket and uniform traffic ticket returnable to Suffolk County First District Court , returnable on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
