Unlicensed Man Caught Driving in East Hampton With 18 Suspensions
The man was charged with a felony, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY- An unlicensed Middle Island man was cuffed in East Hampton Village for driving with 18 suspensions, police said.
According to East Hampton Village Police, Henry Francis, 27, was arrested on February 4 at 10:32 a.m. on Montauk Highway.
While on routine patrol, an officer observed a tan Jeep Patriot heading east on Montauk Highway near Jericho Road with an expired yellow inspection sticker, police said.

Upon stopping, the vehicle, it was confirmed that the inspection had expired in December, police said. A DMV check of the vehicle also reflected an expired registration and indicated that Francis had a suspended driver’s license, police said.
Francis was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a felony, because he had 18 suspensions on 15 different dates, police said. He was also charged with driving an uninspected and unregistered vehicle, police said.

He was taken into custody and transported to headquarter for processing; the vehicle was impounded, police said.
Francis was arraigned and released on $1,000 cash bail, police said; he is slated to return to court on March 3.
