Today was my day off and my husband, TJ Clemente, suggested, despite the cool temperatures, that we walk along Smith Point to the breach. As we walked from the ranger station along the water, we spotted something unusual off in the distance. A closer look revealed that this large mass in the sand was actually a dead whale.
Like a child, I examined it from every angle, even touching it. What amazes me most is that I haven’t heard or read any news stories about this sad event.
