Woman Caught Speeding Drunk: Police

The woman was driving 65 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone, police said.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Selden woman was caught speeding drunk in East Hampton, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Ana C. Celanti, 39, was arrested on Saturday at 12:59 a.m. on Montauk Highway after she drove a Mercedes westbound and was seen failing to maintain her lane and driving 65 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.

Upon contact, she was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, she was unsteady on her feet and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

Celanti was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, and aggravated DWI, per se, BAC .18 of 1 percent or more alcohol in blood, no priors, a misdemeanor, police said.

Cash bail was set at $500, police said.
