Woman Nabbed For Driving Drunk With Cocaine: Police

She was also found with marijuana, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A Westbury woman was arrested after she was caught driving drunk and was later found to be in possession of cocaine, police said.

Suzanne Porta, 45, was arrested on Feb. 10 at 4:05 a.m. on Cedar Street near Hands Creek Road after she was observed driving south on Cedar Street in a 2010 Toyota at 45 miles per hour in a duly posted 30 mile per hour zone, police said. Upon contact she was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, and slurred speech, and she was unsteady on her feet, police said. She also performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests, police said.

Porta was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and aggravated DWI per se, BAC of .18 of 1% or more alcohol in blood, no priors, a misdemeanor, police said.

Later, at the police station, during an inventory of her property, Porta was found to have a clear ziplock bag containing a quantity of a white powdery substance that weighed 500 milligrams or more, police said. The bag was recovered from a side pocket of her purse and the white powder later tested positive for the presence of cocaine, police said. Porta was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: cocaine 500 milligrams, a felony, police said.

She was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

Cash bail was set at $750, police said.
