YMCA East Hampton RECenter's Sweet New Partner
Sweet'tauk Lemonade Helps Youth Leaders Succeed in Original YMCA Program

The YMCA East Hampton RECenter announces its newest partnership to its Leaders & Lemonade program, Sweet’tauk Lemonade, an organization based in Montauk, NY specializing in lemonade production and sustainably sourcing the raw materials used in their products. Leaders & Lemonade is a program for youth, ages 12-14, involved in the YMCA East Hampton RECenter’s Leaders Club, to join business professionals throughout the East End community to develop leadership skills. Sweet’tauk is participating in the youth program, providing the young community leaders lessons about good manufacturing practices for their lemonade competition on July 11 and 12 as well as August 15 and 16, 2015.
“We are excited to have another new partner supporting our Leaders & Lemonade program. It’s moving to see how eager businesses are to offer their services to the youth of our community,” said YMCA East Hampton RECenter Executive Director Glenn Vickers. “Sweet’tauk is providing our youth with a unique service. They specialize in lemonade and as industry leaders in youth development, it’s a perfect fit.”
During the Leaders & Lemonade program, five teams consisting of youth leaders and community business leaders will compete to sell the most lemonade. The teams aim to collectively raise $300,000 to provide summer camp scholarships; expand the Y’s successful youth and senior programs; and expand the LiveStrong program, which provides support for cancer survivors. Sweet’tauk’s workshop will cover important business topics including how to price the product, materials needed for lemonade, staffing the lemonade stand and the very process of making lemonade.

“As an entrepreneur myself, it is so inspiring to see young people on the East End participating in the Leaders and Lemonade program,” stated Deborah Aiza, Founder of Sweet’tauk Lemonade. “Sweet’tauk loves to empower young people. They should know they are capable of making a change and helping others in their communities. We are proud to assist the YMCA of Long Island in teaching these life and business lessons.”
