Cops: Man Robbed Woman at East Meadow Bus Stop
Incident happened Thursday afternoon, police said.

A Hempstead man faces robbery charges after trying to steal a woman’s necklace at an East Meadow bus stop Thursday, according to Nassau County Police.
At 1:28 p.m., Adrian Crocker, 23, approached a 34-year-old woman at the bus stop at Front Street and Berg Avenue, cops said. Crocker asked the woman for the time before ripping a gold chain from her neck, police said.
The victim yelled out and a 48-year-old man tried to grab Crocker, cops said. Crocker fled the scene on foot without the chain, police said.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Officers were given Crocker’s description and found him walking on Mitchell Avenue, officials said. They attempted to stop Crocker, who ran through rear yards and tried to hide in the bushes, cops said. Crocker was found and taken into custody at the scene.
Crocker was charged with third-degree robbery. He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
