East Meadow Students to Perform in All-State Music Conference

Several students were chosen to represent East Meadow at this winter's event.

East Meadow will have plenty of representation in this year's All-State Music Performing Ensembles at this year's NYSSMA Winter Conference to be held in Rochester from Dec. 2 through 5. Recently, the school announced the names of the representatives that will be taking part in this prestigious event.

The following students were selected as alternates for the All-State Performing Ensembles and will automatically selected to perform in All-County in January:

In addition, Anson Wang of East Meadow High School was selected as an alternate in the 2010 Piano Showcase, taking place at the NYSSMA Winter Conference.

More than 8,000 students from across New York State audition for this honor each year at NYSSMA's annual Spring Evaluation Festival. The competition demands the highest level of performance from each participant.

"We are most proud of their accomplishments and of their outstanding teachers," stated Director of Music and Art Abby Behr.
