The Music Department of Hofstra University presents the American Chamber Ensemble (ACE) Fall Concert on Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Monroe Lecture Center Theater on California Avenue, Hempstead.
The ACE is one of Hostra's professional music ensembles and is co-directed by Naomi Drucker and Blanche Abram. In honor of Hofstra University's 75th anniversary, the ACE will perform Woman in Darkness composed by Hofstra's Herbert Deutsch to text by Virginia Terris. This piece willl feature acclaimed soprano Tammy Hensrud; Naomi Drucker, clarinet; and Blanche Abram, piano and synthesizer; each is a Hofstra Music faculty member.

Giancarlo Menotti Trio: clarinet, violin and piano;
Herbert A. Deutsch Woman in Darkness: soprano, clarinet, piano and DX75 synthesizer;
David Diamond Quintet: flute, violin, viola, cello and piano, featuring Pat Spencer;
Mikhail Glinka Trio Pathetique: clarinet, cello and piano;

Antonin Dvorak Trio "Dumky", Op. 90: violin, cello and piano; featuring Marilyn Lehman, piano; Eriko Sato, violin; Chris Finckel, cello; and Lois Martin, viola.
